Latest Legal Tangle With Dana, ArvinMeritor Dana announced that it filed suit against ArvinMeritor, alleging that the company violated a confidentiality agreement in its effort to acquire Dana. ArvinMeritor has issued a statement in response to the complaint. The two companies have been embroiled in lawsuits and counter-suits since early July when ArvinMeritor first announced its intentions for a hostile takeover of Dana. In the statement issued Monday, ArvinMeritor said it believes Dana's lawsuit is without merit. The statement also noted that if Dana is willing to negotiate, ArvinMeritor would investigate further whether a higher value is warranted. The company also said it would consider a mix of cash and stock if it will facilitate a transaction.
